Teacher Kathy spent the majority of her life close to Everglades National Park where she learned to explore the outdoors from an early age. Her nature loving dad and brothers also frequently brought home wildlife needing rehabilitation, further instilling a love of nature in all forms - most especially the ocean!
She attended the University of Florida, earning a degree in Computer Science & Engineering with a minor in Math. While there, Kathy also earned her certification as a scuba instructor teaching classes and exploring all the lakes, springs, caves and ocean waters throughout Florida.
After college Kathy moved to the Pacific Northwest where she ultimately started a family. Once a mother, she traded in her corporate job for spending time with her kids. Kathy has always been passionate about teaching and working with kids so for the past 15 years she’s volunteered for various groups teaching art, math, and scouting skills to primary aged kids of all ages. When Kathy isn’t teaching she enjoys spending time with her dogs, hiking and exploring the ocean.
